Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL) has launched the flagship Suzuki motocross bikes, the Suzuki RM-Z250 and the Suzuki RM-Z450, in India. Suzuki's RM-Z series of off-road motorcycles are renowned the world over for their off-road capability, and great handling and agility on the dirt. The Suzuki RM-Z450 is priced at Rs. 8.31 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), while the Suzuki RM-Z250 has been priced at Rs. 7.1 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Both bikes are pure off-road motorcycles and are not road legal, so these cannot be ridden in traffic or public roads.
"Over the past few years, we have witnessed a great spur in the off-roading and adventurous riding experiences among Indian riders. Paying attention to this rising demand in the racing and adventure category, we are thrilled to launch these purpose-built motorcycles, RM-Z450 and RM-Z250. The bikes boast of great performance, distinctive design, and agility that is unique to RMZ series, offering great handling and control to riders," said Satoshi Uchida, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd.
The Suzuki RM-Z250 is powered by a 249 cc engine and has a kerb weight of 106 kg
The 2019 Suzuki RM-Z450 is powered by a 449 cc, four-stroke, fuel-injected, DOHC engine. The RM-Z450 comes equipped with Suzuki Holeshot Assist Control (S-HAC), which has three selectable modes to choose from according to road conditions. The RM-Z450 also boasts of being the first motocross bike to adopt new balance free rear cushion (BFRC) technology which is said to ensure excellent traction and good shock absorption, offering high responsiveness on the dirt track. The RM-Z450 has a kerb weight of 112 kg with a ground clearance of 330 mm. The 450 rides on a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear.
The Suzuki RM-Z250 comes with a 249 cc, four-stroke, fuel-injected, DOHC engine and offers a lightweight and compact off-road bike with aluminium rims which are designed specifically to withstand rugged terrain, especially motocross conditions and off-road riding. The Suzuki RM-Z250 has a kerb weight of 106 kg, and ground clearance of 345 mm.
