The Mahindra XUV300 is undoubtedly the next hot SUV from the home-grown utility vehicle manufacturer. Slated to go on sale in India around mid-February, Mahindra, in its known fashion, has been revealing a bunch of details about the upcoming subcompact SUV, ahead of the launch. The latest in those lines is a new video released by Mahindra, which shows the XUV300 undergoing wind tunnel testing. In fact, the Mahindra XUV300's aerodynamic capabilities were tested at PininfarinaSpA's world-class wind tunnel facility, in Turin, Italy.

While the results of the wind tunnel test haven't been revealed, in the video, we also get a detailed look at the XUV300's exterior features, like the bold lighting elements up front, dual tone diamond cut alloy wheels, flared wheel arches, and the LED taillamps. The SUV will get projector headlamps with LED daytime running lamps, along with a roof-mounted spoiler and a grille identical to the XUV500, among more.

While the company has already revealed the SUV inside out, the features list, variant details and the engine specifications are still unknown. Having said that, the new Mahindra XUV300, much like the XUV500, is likely to follow the W nomenclature for variants, ideally 4 variants - W2, W4, W6 and W8, with the 'W8' being the range-topping version. Also, we know that the Mahindra XUV300 will come with a dual tone dashboard, touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, auto climate control, dual pod instrument console, height adjustable driver's seat, and adjustable rear headrests with a dedicated headrest for the middle passenger.

Under the hood, the new Mahindra XUV300 is expected to come with a 1.5-litre diesel and a newly developed 1.2-litre G80 turbocharged petrol engine. Transmission duties will be taken care of 6-speed manual gearbox as standard, while an automatic option is likely to come in later.
Up on launch, the new Mahindra XUV300 will ideally compete with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport. However, some of the dealers we spoke to claim that the XUV300 will be priced in the range of Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 15 lakh, which puts it in the same price range as the Hyundai Creta and the Renault Captur. More will be known once the SUV goes on sale in India.
