Honda Cars India has announced the introduction of a new top-end VX CVT automatic variant for the Honda Amaze subcompact sedan. Up until now, the CVT automatic option on the Honda Amaze was only available with the S and V variants. Honda has launched the car in both petrol and diesel engine options and while the new Amaze VX CVT petrol trim is priced at Rs. 8.56 lakh, the diesel variant has been launched at Rs. 9.56 lakh (both ex-showroom, Delhi).

Speaking on the introduction of new top grade VX CVT in Honda Amaze Rajesh Goel, Sr. Vice President and Director, Sales & Marketing, Honda Cars India said, "The 2nd Generation Honda Amaze set a new benchmark in its segment with over 20 per cent of our customers opting for advanced CVT variants in both petrol and diesel. We are delighted to introduce the new VX CVT variant of Honda Amaze to complete the top spec VX range and offer increased choice to our customers."
In terms of features, the new Honda Amaze VX CVT variant comes with offerings like - a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, smartphone connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, in-built satellite-linked turn by turn navigation, IR remote control, steering mounted voice control switches, rear parking camera with guidelines, and one-touch up with pinch guard for driver-side window. Furthermore, front passenger seatbelt reminder and high-speed alarm now come as standard across all trim options. Honda already offers features like - rear parking sensors, ABS, Dual airbags, ISOFIX Child Seat Anchorage, Impact Sensing Door Unlock as standard.
The petrol version of the Honda Amaze gets a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine makes 89 bhp and 110 Nm of peak torque. The diesel model, on the other hand, gets a 1.5-litre oil burner that makes 99 bhp and 200 Nm torque in the manual version, while the diesel CVT unit makes 78 bhp and 160 Nm torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic unit.
The second-generation Honda Amaze was first launched in India in May 2018 and since then the company has sold over 85,000 units of the car, in just 11 months. In fact, the new Amaze contributed to 46 per cent of total HCIL sales in FY 2018-19. The car has been one of the top-selling models in the company's line-up and continues to be the only car to offer a diesel CVT option right now. The Honda Amaze is now offered in 4 grades in manual transmission for petrol and diesel - E, S, V and VX grades, out of which the CVT option is available in S, V and now the VX grades.
