The country's second largest carmaker, Hyundai Motor India has commenced the production of its much-awaited new subcompact SUV. The Hyundai Venue has rolled off the assembly line at the company's Sriperumbudur manufacturing facility, just outside of Chennai. The car is all set for its market launch on May 21 2019. It was unveiled in April when it made a simultaneous world debut in India and the United States, at the New York International Auto Show. India is the first market to get the car, and it will subsequently be going on sale elsewhere, including Korea and the USA.

The first car to rollout was dressed in Lava Orange -a new colour from Hyundai for India - though seen on new models like the Santa Fe in other markets. The car also had the optional two-tine contrast roof option in black. The car also featured the brand new engine that is coming to India for the first time with the Hyundai Venue - the turbocharged 1.0, 3-cylinder petrol with the new 7-Speed DCT (dual-clutch) gearbox.

The Hyundai Venue will be available in 7 colours
Hyundai opened bookings for the Venue just a few days ago It managed to shatter previous records by getting 2000 bookings in the first 24 hours alone. Company sources have now shared that bookings are already expected to climb past the 10,000 mark in quick time. The Hyundai Venue will be available in 7 colours (Stardust, Denim Blue, Typhoon Silver, Deep Forest, Polar White, Fiery Red, and Lava Orange of course). There will be three two-tone options on offer too. The Venue carries the company's new design language that began to first take shape with the current new gen Santa Fe. The slim LED lights up top and the large and wide 'cascade' front grill are the chief characteristics of the new 'Sensuous Sportiness' design language.

The Hyundai Venue will be India's first connected car thanks to the Bluelink technology on offer
Besides the 1.0 petrol, there are also the 1.2 petrol and 1.4-litre diesel. The 1.2-petrol gets a 5-Speed manual gearbox, while the diesel gets a 6-Speed. The car is also being touted as India's first connected car. The Hyundai Venue will sport an eSIM - or an embedded sim card that will be used to help fulfil many data related functions like maps, emergency response, finding destinations and connectivity to your loved ones. The Korean car maker has already tied up with Vodafone-Idea for the eSIM services, and all data services for buyers using the function will be free while the warranty is applicable - which is expected to be 3 years. Of course the eSIM functionality is only expected to be on offer at the very top spec variant only. The car is also expected to sport cutting edge safety features a slew of creature comforts as well.
