The Land Rover Defender is an SUV meant for the outdoors and not really expected to be a pro on a race track. However, Land Rover is probably aiming to make the upcoming Defender more versatile. The latest spy shots suggest that the British automaker is working to make the next-generation Defender more stable on the road as well. A test mule of the 2020 Defender was spotted testing at the Nurburgring circuit and this time it has been spotted with a little less camouflage.

The spy images which have surfaced online are of the four-door 110 model which is riding on low profile tyres.
The SUV still retains the tank like built but this time it looks a tad curvaceous. Land Rover has taken out the pseudo claddings from the bonnet and the face looks just a bit similar to that of the Land Rover Sport, precisely the headlamp assembly and front grille. The spy images which have surfaced online are of the four-door 110 model which is riding on low profile tyres. Land Rover is expected to offer the new Defender with a range of tyre options which could also include ones with larger rims and sleeker rubber sections in a bid to aid its on road dynamics. That said, high profile wheels with fatter rubber will surely be a part of the range.

Land Rover has been testing the Defender rigorously in the most extreme conditions on earth.
Other than the 3.0-litre six-cylinder engines, the new Defender is also expected to get the latest 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine which recently made its way to the Range Rover Sport. Land Rover has been testing the Defender rigorously and it has recently achieved a new test and development milestone after completing the 1.2-million-kilometre test landmark. It is expected to launch later this year after passing more than 45,000 individual tests in some of the most extreme conditions on earth.
