Just a few days ago, the specifications of the 'super light' new Ducati superbike, the limited edition Ducati V4 Superleggera were leaked. And the upcoming Superleggera V4 promised some mind-boggling numbers - 234 bhp of maximum power, all with a dry weight of just 152 kg. Now, the first photo of the upcoming, limited edition Ducati V4 Superleggera has been leaked on the Internet, and from what we can see, the biggest visual differentiator is the dual set of winglets on the fairing.

The winglets are placed down the fairing from the front end, as well as under the headlight cowl. And those winglets have a significant purpose, to keep the featherlight, but powerful Superleggera pinned to terra firma. The bi-plane wings are said to deliver 50 kg of downforce at 270 kmph to keep the front end down. And the V4 Superleggera is expected to come in MotoGP livery and not WSBK-inspired livery, as has been listed in the leaked document.

The 234 bhp of power from the Desmosedici Stradale R engine shared with the Panigale V4R will be achieved with an Akrapovic exhaust and ECU update, and the weight reduction (as much as 41 kg over the V4R), has been achieved with generous amounts of carbon fibre, titanium and other lightweight materials. The chassis, wheels and bodywork, as well as the swingarm are likely to carbon fibre. Suspension will be from Ohlins, and braking will be handled by top-spec Brembo Stylema R calipers.
The Ducati Panigale V4 Superleggera, codenamed Project 1708, will be the first Superleggera to use a V4 engine, and from the leaked document, it appears that it will be a limited edition model. Each bike will be numbered, with a matching key and frame number, but it will be affordable to only a select few, with a price tag of $100,000 (over Rs. 70 lakh). Only 500 V4 Superleggera bikes will be built, but all these are likely to sell out within a very short time. Production is slated for April 2020, with deliveries beginning in May 2020.
