Skoda's five car line-up at the Auto Expo 2020 also includes the Karoq compact SUV which is likely to go on sale in India later this year. The Karoq competes in the premium end of the compact SUV segment and will rival the likes of the Jeep Compass, Honda CR-V and Hyundai Tucson. We already know that the Skoda Karoq will be assembled locally in India and will have high level of local contents. It will be spawned by the MQB AO IN platform and will be a successor to the Yeti.
Now speaking of its looks, the design is in-line with all modern days Skoda's, featuring the same family grille and slim headlamps. The front looks bold and sharp, thanks to the sculpting on the hood and bumper and the profile and rear are almost similar to that of the Kodiaq. The cabin is draped in leather upholstery and expect it to be loaded with all the segment standard features like a large touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, virtual cockpit, nine airbags and dual-zone climate control among others.
Under the hood, there is a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder TSI petrol motor which will be mated to a seven-speed DSG gearbox. The Koraq can clock triple digit speeds in nine seconds while its top-speed is rated 202 kmph.
