Volkswagen India has opened order books for the T-Roc and Tiguan AllSpace SUVs in its line-up. Both models were showcased by the manufacturer at the 2020 Auto Expo and are part of the new product offensive that the German auto giant has planned for India. Under Volkswagen India 2.0, the automaker has lined up four SUVs for the Indian market including the T-Roc, Tiguan AllSpace, the newly unveiled Taigun compact SUV and an electric SUV based on the I.D. Crozz concept. The Volkswagen T-Roc will be the first launch scheduled in March 2020, while the Tiguan AllSpace will go on sale in the first of the year.

The T-Roc is a crossover competing in the compact SUV segment and will be brought to the country as a completely built unit (CBU). The model will be offered with only the 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol motor tuned for about 147 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque and will be paired with the 7-speed DSG autobox. The crossover is feature-laden and comes with a bold front with the slatted grille that integrates with the LED headlamps and DRLs, stylish alloy wheels, and the sharply styled taillights. The crossover is loaded on the feature front with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Virtual Cockpit, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, and more. Expect prices for the T-Roc to start around Rs. 18 lakh (ex-showroom) with the model competing against the Jeep Compass and the MG Hector in the segment.
The Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace, as the name suggests, is based on the Tiguan and is an extended version of the current model available. The Tiguan AllSpace looks identical the the five-seater version, but gets 110 mm longer wheelbase and is about 215 mm longer overall. There is the addition of a third row that makes this SUV a seven-seater. The Tiguan AllSpace will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbo petrol TSI motor and is likely to be offered in the two-wheel drive mode. Prices can be expected in the vicinity of Rs. 30-32 lakh (ex-showroom) for the new model.
