Dainiese has set up a GoFundMe fundraising campaign and is appealing for donations as the Italian brand attempts to raise 200,000 Euros to help provide medical equipment for Italian healthcare professionals tackling the COVID-19 outbreak. The motorcycle clothing giant has already raised over 109,000 Euros, and the total amount will go to the Italian Civil Protection (Dipartimento della Protezione Civile). Anyone wishing to donate to Dainese's crowdfunding efforts to battle the coronavirus pandemic may do so at the GoFundMe campaign page.

Other motorcycle component brands like Brembo, Moto Morini and Pirelli have also launched similar crowdfunding efforts in Italy's fight against the novel coronavirus outbreak across the world. Italy is the worst hit country with over 13,000 deaths, followed by Spain with over 10,000 deaths. More than 50,000 people have already died across the world due to the highly contagious coronavirus outbreak, and approximately 10,00,000 people are estimated to be infected at this point of time. The figure is expected to rise in the next couple of weeks.

The global motorcycle industry has been hit hard, as are other industries, with Italian brands like Ducati and MV Agusta suspending production. In the US too, Harley-Davidson has shut down production across all its manufacturing plants after a Harley-Davidson employee was infected by the coronavirus. In India too, the world's largest motorcycle market, all motorcycle brands have shut down offices and manufacturing plants after the government announced a lockdown on March 24, 2020, till April 14, 2020. The full scale of the global disaster is still yet unknown, and the corresponding economic fallout it has had around the world.
